In 2020, Marsden Jazz Festival did things differently. Chronotope is a word which describes how time and place are represented in language – and it’s the name of a project by Marsden Jazz Festival that places music in new contexts.
The festival commissioned several musicians to conduct special performances in iconic locations on Marsden Moor. The films of the performances bring the landscape into the foreground, blending the music with ambient natural sounds, to create something different and special.
I was the production manager for three of the sessions.
